I am Phillippa, the Sydney dwelling word lover behind the name Word Winnow. I studied Communications and Commercial Radio (then side stepped to dabble in marketing and retail) before diving into a career in radio. My role meant working alongside international and national brands E-V-E-R-Y-day.

Together we made bespoke campaigns, competitions and events come to life. My worklife norm revolved around sentences like "Call now to win tickets to see >>>insert famous artist<<< in a live and intimate performance" and meant making listener’s dreams come true (whilst also working tirelessly to receive high fives and contented nods from the big business brand who had funded the dream come true moments). 

Oh it was fun working alongside on air talent (radio announcers), international artists, TV networks and big brands; and yes giving away the hottest concert tickets in town and the biggest prizes gave me all the feel good, warm fuzzies, as did winning an Australian Commercial Radio Award aka an ACRA (It's the Grammy of the radio industry in Australia). It was extraordinary being part of the biggest radio networks in Australia BUT my heart has always been for words, story telling, moving people and stirring hearts to cause action! Which lands me here, starting out as a copywriter…. It was a natural progression really…I found myself writing copy for fun and over time I developed a genuine interest in crafting creative copy and content with strategy. Fostering this interest has transformed my writing into a skill and ultimately this business.

When I’m not dreaming up new sentences you can find me in my most significant role as girl mama to Hazel and Abigail. I’m a bible reader fuelled by tea not coffee and a health and fitness enthusiast often self sabotaged due to sweet tooth tendencies (give me all the chocolate, cake and nutella). I’m also a flatlay novice..... if you see my flatlay attempts on social media please bear with me… with that said my camera feed is mostly dominated by hundreds of shots of flowers (and pics of my children of course)
